Our Story
Harrup Park’s story begins with cricket. From the formation of the Mackay Cricket Association in 1891 to the purchase of the land in 1939 where the Club proudly stands today, our journey has been shaped by passion, resilience and community spirit.
What started as a sporting vision has grown into one of Mackay’s most iconic destinations. Today, Harrup Park is home to the Mackay Cricket Association, AFL Mackay and the RSL Mackay Sub-Branch. With more than 30,000 members, 61 affiliated clubs, a Bistro, Coffee Shop, Bar and Deck, 213-machine Gaming Lounge, dedicated Function Centre and five sporting ovals, we are proud to be Mackay’s leading leisure and sporting destination.
Over the years, we’ve hosted historic moments across both cricket and AFL, including International men’s and women’s fixtures, Sheffield Shield matches, Women’s Big Bash League fixtures, NAB Challenge / JLT Community Series games, AFL Women’s matches and international men’s and women’s cricket.
At the heart of it all is our commitment to community. We strive to deliver a welcoming atmosphere, exceptional service and memorable experiences, creating a place where friends gather, milestones are celebrated and great memories are made.
